Fire hits Cugman commercial district at zone 2


Just an hour before electric service was installed again, the before thriving commercial district of barangay Cugman in Cagayan de Oro, at about 10 pm. was hit by fire that destroyed property of almost P7 million and 46 houses, affected 73 families with 424 persons, according to Ms. Teresita Montanes from the District Office of the Social Welfare Department.

The fire started at Conching Constantinos house, probably by a kerosene lamp used by the old lady in time of the daily brownouts hitting the city. Since the area is crowded with houses the fire spread quickly.
